Asian Aid is an international NGO of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Its operating model is to raise funds through its congregation in Australia as a way of supporting partner organisations to implement project work in Bangladesh, Nepal and India. Asian Aid maintains a small team in Wauchope, NSW that manages their support to partners and provides feedback to donors on progress and impact.
Community Works completed two assignments for Asian Aid during 2023. The first was to develop and facilitate a one-week training program for staff of eight partner organisations and Australian staff that was held in Kathmandu during March. The subject was project design and proposal development. The second was an online training program in MEL for the same partner organisations held over four weeks (four half-day sessions) in August and September.
CW designed the training in consultation with Asian Aid, developed the materials, facilitated the sessions and prepared a report for the first course and a MEL resource package for the second one. Steve Fisher led the process and Hyemi Jacka supported the sessions and prepared the report for the first program. Carolina Bermudez and Kirsty McKellar prepared the MEL Resource.
